As part of our project to install operable walls at News Internationals new London HQ we were required by the client to conduct independent testing of our installed track system in order to guarantee that there was no further need for additional steel support work.
Structural Engineers Lucking & Clark LLP of Hatton Garden were appointed to conduct the tests on the instruction of the client. We are delighted to say that we have passed all with flying colours, the randomly selected pull out tests on our fixings achieved up to twice the design calculated loading. Our track deflection was then measured to ensure that the stacking area's were compliant with our specification. These were successfully point loaded to a capacity of 4000kg, far in excess of the project requirements, proof again that our product design criteria of "exceed the customers expectation" has proven benefits.
One of our competitors, Komfort UK, have introduced their version of a folding, sliding, wall system.

Duvale PLC have recognised over time conflict in the information being communicated on Acoustics when specifying movable walls Systems. With this in mind Duvale PLC contacted independent Acoustic consultants, Ed Everden of PDA Acoustics, Tim South, FIOA of Leeds university, Peter Himes MEM.A.S.A of W A Hines & Partner LLC, British Gypsum and others to contribute in formulating a best practice guide on Acoustics within buildings when incorporating movable wall Systems. The guide is in an easy to read format and covers in detail subjects such as what is the difference between Sound Insulation and Absorption, Flanking Transmission, Sound reduction Index & Standardised Level Difference plus Site conditions which are all relevant considering your Acoustics. The guide also clearly defines the required usage of individual areas and identifies anticipated levels of noise – dB (A). Assisting with your choice of product for your surrounding environment and the type of Installation, ensuring that all flanking elements are fully and appropriately sealed and catered for. Our guide to specifying Movable wall systems is clean and precise helping those who need to make an informed decision when choosing an acoustic moving wall product.
